Lift Truck Courses

We are leaders in the training of and licensing of lift truck operators. TVL Training has been providing training and issuing licenses to lift truck operators since 1993 and have been amongst the very first in the country to be accredited as a lifting equipment training provider. During a novice training course, students learn to operate lift trucks by inspecting all the parts of the machine and understand their functions. Students are further taught how to conduct pre-shift inspections, safe operating procedures and proper shut-down procedures. During the course each student gets ample opportunity to operate the lift truck to ensure that they can display the required operational knowledge when final assessment takes place.

Operate counter-balanced lift truck - F1

Up to 3000 kg

A person that has successfully completed this training course will be competent and licensed to do the following with a counter-balanced lift truck (Forklift) with a maximum lifting capacity of 3000kg (3 Ton):

Identify the components of the lift truck.
Conduct pre-shift inspections.
Safely operate and manoeuvre the lift truck.
Safely move loads.
Conduct proper shutdown procedures and end of shift checks.
Licensed to operate

Course Duration:

Novice: 5 days
Recert: 1 day

Entry Requirements:

Novice Course

Must be at least 18 years of age
Be in possession of a declaration or certificate confirming medical fitness
Eye test result confirming adequate day / night vision or valid PrDP
Physically capable of performing tasks without difficulty

Renewal

Same requirements as for a novice course plus a valid F1 license which has not expired

A person that has successfully completed this training course will be competent and licensed to do the following with a counter-balanced lift truck (Forklift) with a minimum lifting capacity of 15000kg (15 Ton):

Safely operate and manoeuvre the lift truck.
Safely move loads.
Conduct proper shutdown procedures and end of shift checks.

A person that has successfully completed this training course will be competent and licensed to do the following with a reach lift truck with a maximum lifting capacity of 2500kg (2.5 Ton):

Safely operate and manoeuvre the lift truck.
